Take a couple of minutes to pause to calm your body and mind by trying our 7-11 breathing exercise.

The 7-11 breathing, as featured on the 16 Guidelines app, is a simple and effective method to slow down and be more calm and relaxed.

  • Breathe in deeply through your nose to the count of seven.

  • Don’t just breathe from the upper chest – imagine you are inflating a balloon in your stomach

  • If you can, hold your breath for a moment

  • Breathe out through your nose to the count of eleven, allowing your neck and shoulders to relax

  • Repeat three times

  • Notice any changes to your body or mind
