FREE FDCW Webinar with Dr Joey Weber - "Beyond Mindfulness - Unlocking Compassion with Equanimity"

Dr Joey Weber will give a talk on his new book “Why Mindfulness is not Enough - Unlocking Compassion with Equanimity” (you can read the foreward to the book here) which is the culmination of 6 years of PhD research into barriers to equanimity. It will introduce clinical based definitions of secular equanimity and discuss its usefulness within the provinces of health and wellbeing. It will situate equanimity within contemporary mindfulness and highlight the ways in which equanimity moves beyond mindfulness and binds it with compassion.

Ven Robina Courtin said about his book: “Joey Weber shows convincingly in his pithy book that as good as mindfulness is for our wellbeing, it’s even more powerful when we bring the attitude to equanimity into the mix as the foundation for the development of empathy and compassion. In other words, he shows, as the Dalai Lama points out, that our compassion not only benefits others, it benefits ourselves as well.”
