Geshe Tenzin Zopa
Geshe Zopa is a Tibetan Buddhist monk who was born in the Tsum Valley of Nepal. He undertook extensive studies at Sera Jey University and graduated as a Geshe, which is Tibetan for professor of Buddhist philosophy, in 2007.
In 2018 Geshe Zopa was invited to be a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University’s Faculty of Oriental Studies, as part of the So-Wide Visitorship for Traditional Scholars in the Tibetan and Himalayan Studies program.
Geshe Zopa is valued as a dynamic young scholar and teacher with a particular interest in combining traditional teachings and practices with contemporary socially-engaged Buddhism. He has many years’ experience as a touring teacher worldwide and is known for his warm and accessible teaching style.
