This interactive workshop proposes a creative approach to our own impermanence and mortality. The source of exploration is based on the experience in modern Hospices and the insights of several spiritual traditions. The aim is to find the inspiration and to gather the courage to cultivate the methods that will help is to look at death with a more open and positive attitude, fundamental qualities for an authentic and meaningful live. We will cultivate our real purpose in life. Finding trust, hope and confidence while contemplating our own mortality helps us to become a real, compassionate support to others approaching death.

Join Andy for a series of meditations and discussions on how we can best be of service in our community, what inspires us and what holds us back. We examine courage, groundedness and our inner source of wisdom and compassion.

Often we enter into stressful situations - through work, family, and life. These situations can be triggering, scary and difficult. They also might be opportunities for transformation and growth. By connecting first with a good motivation and then bringing in a wise view, we can create the causes for our own well-being as well as for the benefit of others. This workshop will present some examples and practices to help each of us connect to our deepest motivation as well as the most skillful versions of ourselves in order to be present and unwavering in face of potential harm and suffering. We will explore how Universal Education, through years of practicing TMM and 16G has helped navigate many different settings and situations.

Just as a lotus flower rises above the mud, so can each of us use those very difficulties and illnesses that we would prefer to run from, to grow and deepen our compassion and understanding of oneself and of life. Transformative Mindfulness Methods (TMM) has the potential to help to connect to our heart-mind, to understand how our perceptions and beliefs create problems and how to see beyond the story that we tell ourselves about who we are. By releasing stuck emotional tensions and patterns, we become kinder to ourselves and naturally care for others with our innate compassion. We develop a more loving, open state of heart-mind and grow in confidence. There will be a guided practice to experience the transformative potential of these methods and sharing of personal experiences to illustrate how creating a safe place for all of our feelings and aspects of ourselves allows us to embrace a more joyful and courageous way of being. Please have paper and colored crayons for this workshop.
