Embodying Loving Awareness in Difficult Times
with Claudia Van Zuiden - Recorded session
"Can I let go of all the labels I have about myself and if I do, what is left?" - Claudia Van Zuiden
In this life-affirming session, full of hope, heart resonance and love, Claudia shared techniques for connecting with our own hearts and feeling that our true nature is love. When this happens, all the thoughts, negativities and narratives just drop away. We can make a conscious heart choice about what is most beneficial right now. By connecting with our heart, we can be guided and grounded.
Claudia said "My heart is my compass". Even in her most difficult times, she has been able to access a calm, clear, loving presence within. With practice that space becomes more familiar, easier to access and more spontaneous. And that helps others as well as ourselves. When we forgive (ourselves and others) the heart softens - it is no longer tight. That's beneficial for us as well as others. If it's not possible to forgive, that's ok too. Just practice.

Breathing In Equanimity
with Dr Joey Weber - Recorded session
"We live our lives waiting for the next moment to be better" - Dr Joey Weber
Dr Joey Weber explored why equanimity is the cement between the bricks of compassion and mindfulness. Our compassion oscillates. Our compassion goes up or down depending on how the object of our compassion relates to us. But with the power and practice of equanimity we can relate to others in a healthier way.
Our normal way is to have strong attraction or aversion to people and objects. Our society is set up that way - we are asked to "like" or "dislike" constantly. It's polarising. But equanimity can keep us more emotionally balanced. We can loosen the projections we have about who we think we are. With self-inquiry and gentleness we can heal and then relate to others in a more balanced, discerning way with wisdom reducing our biases and judgements.
After leading us in an exercise on equanimity, Dr Joey concluded that equanimity is not just an intellectual idea, but has to be practised, familiarised, internalised, so you feel it and it heals you and others. For training in developing equanimity visit https://equanamee.com/.
