We Are All One Family, with :
Niv Agam, Ofir Levit and Mairan Broadbar - Recorded session
"A pair of good eyes, a smile and a willingness to know the other person can be a seed of a true friendship." - Ofir Levit
During this uplifting and heartwarming session Niv, Ofir and Mairan share how FDCW's tools for wisdom and compassion are transforming the lives of people in Israel, especially those experiencing loneliness, living in poverty or struggling with sickness. They share the vision of Dreamers Home, an non-profit that partnered with FDCW to bring the 16 Guidelines program to Israel. Dreamers Home aims to contribute to social solidarity and to a more harmonious and peaceful world. We hear about the Jaffa Balcony that brings together women from Christian, Judiac and Islamic traditions to share their common values and yummy food. A non-religous framework proved essential for local women to explore values openly and without fear. Dreamers works to overcome religious and cultural barriers, while recognising the needs of people and showing how together we can create a different way of being with one another and a new world.
Spreading Joy and Gratitude in Your Community
with Alison Murdoch - Recorded session
After opening with a beautiful meditation on kindness, Alison described organising a week long Kindness Festival in her hometown. The Festival was built on three themes: Celebrating Kindness, Practising Kindness and Exploring Kindness.
Local people found all sorts of creative ways of sharing kindness from painting inspiring quotes about kindness onto rocks and scattering them around town, to knitting hearts and toys and leaving these to be "found" by children, from asking supermarkets to donate flowers, to giving out donated flower bouquets at food banks, from kindness assemblies in local schools to a public meeting debating kindness in politics, from children making kindness badges to kindness umbrellas. As each person brought their flavour of kindness, the event gradually grew bigger. There was no budget or funding. It was a voluntary and co-creative process. And it all began with a few people sharing ideas over hot chocolate on a Sunday afternoon
